From Keiko McCracken:
Good morning, education supporters!
I am thrilled to share with you a clip from the upcoming VOICES performance that Anacortes High School students have been preparing for the community.
VOICES is a student-sponsored, student-created multimedia performance in the arts showcasing real experience and resilience in the lives of Anacortes teens. It celebrates authentic student stories expressed through music, film, dance, drama, spoken word, visual arts and more. Gender identity, body image, love, diversity and bullying are just some of the themes for the evening. For anyone wishing to understand and support our youth, this is the event of the year to attend.
VOICES will be performed one night only, this Friday, April 27, 7:00 pm. at Brodniak Hall. Admission is by donation to Voices of the Children, a Skagit Valley-based nonprofit providing opportunities in the arts to marginalized youth both locally and internationally.
Please feel free to share this invitation widely with other groups and individuals. We hope to pack the hall to honor the bravery and artistic achievement of these young adults. Their greatest fears are that people will laugh, and no one will care enough to come. I believe that Anacortes can prove them wrong! And I promise, you will leave the theater changed.
With warm regards,
