2018 Project Homeless Connect Orientations

From Isabela Ordoñez at Community Action (IsabelaO@communityactionskagit.org)

Thank you for contributing your time and heart to building relationships, opening doors to opportunity, and helping our neighbors and their families get ahead. Project Homeless Connect would not be possible without your generosity of time and spirit. On behalf of all the service providers and guests at PHC, and on behalf of the Skagit Coalition to End Homelessness, we are grateful for your participation in this annual event that connects over 350 families to services in our community.

If you registered someone using your email address, please pass this information to them!

In Person Orientations:

The event is approaching and I wanted to let you know about our upcoming volunteer orientations which will provide a better understanding about the event, the people that we are serving, roles, and some of the new changes that we have in store for this year!

All orientations will be held in the Early Learner’s Conference Room at 320 Pacific Place, Mount Vernon. The upcoming dates are:

·         Lunch Hour Orientation: Tuesday August 21st from 12:30-1:45 PM

·         After Hours Orientation:  Wednesday August 15th from 5:15- 6:45 PM

Online Orientation

If you are unable to attend an in-person orientation, we will also have an online orientation available for your viewing as well. We are working on finalizing the online orientation and will send out the link once it is complete.

Position Assignments

As we get a little closer to the event, we will send out information regarding event logistics like where to check in, what to wear, lunch, and position specific instructions.

Know anyone that might be interested in volunteering at PHC?

We still need a couple volunteers to help out in hospitality roles, set up, and tear down! If you have any other staff or friends that would like to volunteer at Project Homeless Connect please connect them with me or have them sign up ONLINE! We have a HUGE need for interpreters that speak Spanish, Mixteco, Triqui, Russian, and Ukrainian. We are also in need of volunteers to help out with hospitality roles like greeting and guiding people around campus.
