The Anacortes Family Center and our partners help folks survive these cold nights, AND we work for longer-term change. One important way we do that is to help coordinate the Point in Time Homeless Count each year, and we need YOUR help. In addition to taking surveys, volunteers provide “Hospitality Bags” with essential items such as socks, toiletries, snacks, and more – bags provided by churches and businesses.
We need 40+ volunteers, working in pairs, to help conduct surveys in various locations such as food banks, hot meal programs, social service agencies and other places. Volunteers must be comfortable approaching strangers and speaking in a respectful manner with people from diverse backgrounds. Beatriz will conduct a short orientation training prior to the day (s) you will be volunteering. Following is a list of days and times that we are asking for volunteers. If you are able to assist, please let Beatriz know. Her contact information is: firstname.lastname@example.org or (360) 293-2993 ext 124.

We sincerely need your help for this very important event! This event will help us understand ways to help those who are working hard to get out of homelessness and ways to prevent homelessness. Because we have the lowest apartment vacancy rate of any county, it makes housing our homeless neighbors very difficult. Thank you so much for supporting us in the fight to prevent homelessness in Skagit County!
Please let us know what shift (s) you are able to assist. Thank you so much!
